So I'm guessing you're all wondering if I'm back??? Shit, all I can say is I'm
not sure but I feel horrible for not updating my comic. Not only have I gotten
tons of kind words from people encouraging me to come back, but all this shit
is just backing up in my brain looking for a release And I'm gonna try to get
it out for your entertainment and my sanity. I'm thinking this may have been
a nice break for me I"ve gone at this shit for several years (6?) at full
bore now and I've never really taken a break. And I want you to know this is
only a break because comics have introduced me to so many cool people (and certain
not so cool people) and its drastically changed my life so don't you think i
quit, I'm to full of myself to just give up

ok So I'm back. I just wanted to thank everyone who e-mailed me their condolences
and their stories about their breakup experiences. They help me put alot into
perspective. I'm sorry I haven't responded to alot of you, It was just hard
for me to respond at the time. Mostlikely one of these days I'll go through
and try to respond to as many of you as I can. anyways, I didn't stop drawing
comics but I haven't been as productive as I usaully am. Lately, I've just been
unable or unwilling to post my comics lately, but hopefully that'll be diffrent
from now on. I've had a website for something like six years now under various
names, and I don't think my updating has been so nonexistant in that entire
time, I just needed to get out of my jenny induced funk.
So Anyways, If
you're in the Milwaukee area check out the Weekly Paper MKE some of my fellow
Milwaukee cartoonists and I have comics in the latest issue which coincides
with the "Masters of Cartooning" Exhibit at the Milwaukee Art museum.
Be sure to check that out by the way, It's a real excellent exhibit and well
worth the price of admission simply to see Chris Ware's work at full-size. If
you arent in the milwaukee area you can still check out the "MKE"
local cartoonist feature here.

If you're wondering about the lack of comics lately, it's because Jen and I
have have split up. I'm hurting real bad and it's hard for me to really concentrate
or think about comics at the moment. This isn't a late april fools joke, although
I wish it was. She was my first real longterm relationship, probably the first
women I could properly call a girlfriend and I know she was the first women
I loved and continue to love. We had a lot of problems in various parts of our
lives that you all didn't see in the past year. My irregular job situation has
been a constant source of stress, and my various finacial responsibilities have
been constant drain on what little funds I have, and in turn I became a drain
on Jenny.
With that said,
I'm in the process of packing all my belongings and moving back home. I'm going
to use this time back in the house I grew up in, to fix a lot of the things
that I believe ulatamatly ended our relationship. I don't think there is anyway
that doing this will magically win her back, but I have to do this because I
need to. For the first time in my life I've got a real plan of what I'm gotta
do next.

I apologize for the erratic comic schedule I've been keeping lately, but I've
got some exciting bits of of information, some of which I know some people think
is pretty long over due. Did someone say T-shirts? And some of which
I find personally exciting. Anyways it's still too early to say anything for

Erich Scheichelbauer the artist and author behind MekkaBlue

So it's friday the !3th, And I'm actually feeling alot better than I have for
the past week and here I thought I was getting better a week ago. Thanks to
everyone who emailed telling me to get well soon, I'm glad to see how much people

I hope everyone had a good X-mas. Sorry about the lack of comics lately, but
over Christmas I got Bronchitis and I'm just only now getting over it , Anyways,
the updates will be more regular and orders will be going out on Monday.
Besides that I thought I'd mention the webstore, DigitalSnowShop.com,
that my friend and old roomate Eric
Hancock put online. Eric recently started a handmade plush toy business
making original and one of a kind "Dirties." Jen and I had the pleasure
of purchasing a custom plush from him (which of unfortuantly isn't shown on
his site) as a gift this X-mas and I've got to say it was hard to give the lil
guy away and most likely I'll be buying another one just for myself.

hoped Pickles would get better, I didn't respond to comments because i didn't
want to ruin the end of this storyline for lack of a better term. It was greatly

I just thought I would mention that I now only have 8 7 copies
of my Dreadful Days Vol. 1 remaining. Unfortunatly,
I'm not real sure when I'll be reprinting as I'll be focused on preparing and
printing Vol. 2 in the next few months, but hopefully it won't be too long.
Anyways, I've got to say I am more than happy with the response that I have
recieved for Vol.1, And I thank everyone who's bought a book or commisioned
a painting or even thrown a couple dollars into the tip cup, It's all very much
appreciated.

I completely screwed up my computer Sunday shortly aftermy last blog
entry. It started with me wanting some cartoons to play correctly on my mac
and ended with me having to perform a full system restore. I think i may have
downloaded a corrupt codec or something which fried finder on my mac. Luckily
Like i said System restore fixed my problem, unfortunatly, it also wiped my
harddrive.
Luckily The only real casualty was about a month's worth of journal strips which
can be redone in fairly short order and pictures from new years mostlikely in
the months to come I learn what i actually lost but there is nothing i can do
now.

Yow, Been a pretty busy week after the the gallery opening in which
it turned out I wasn't a part of ( more
info here). Anyways I had to get some work done on this huge painting I
started almost a year ago not to mention I had to finish the gifts I made for
Jenny's Birthdayas well as picking up the gifts I bought her. After that was
Thanksgiving At the "Cat Ranch" which of course was fun and Thanksgiving-ny
and finally yesterday we went to Chicago to see the Blue Man Group which was
hella fun. Sorry for such a big delay and look for comics on Monday.

if it's not one thing its another, sorry about the lack of journals I'm desperately
trying to finish my submission
to the SPXPO anthology(which is what appears above). I'm about half way
done basically I have one page to ink and then three to color and I basically
have to get them done tonight. so rest assured once I have this out of the way
I'll be back on track. Also Copies of My
book have Arrived from the printer, and they look sharp. The first batch
of orders will be going out Monday morning, so anyone who orders their book
by Friday (hint, hint) will be in that first batch. I've also updated
the order page to make international orders easier

any of you are interested, I did a guest strip for Erich Scheichelbauer that
appears over at Mekka
Blue today.You'll remember that I did one for him last year, and this is
pretty much a continutation of that strip. Also I just wanted to let you know
that I've got a bit of exciting news namely, that I've recently recieved my
proof copy of my new book you can see a picture of it here.
I'll be opening up orders once I have a firm date. There will be an ad on the

decided to try to sell a painting in order to fund a possible print collection
of my journal strip. I'm just trying out an auction at ebay in order to gauge
what the response to something like this might have. If it does well I'll most
likely start doing paintings on a regular basis to raise some capital inorder
to fund a possible print collection of my journal strips.

thanks to everyone who wrote in and gave me a translation of the
text while most that i saw were variations similar to what i got. but Juha Mäkinen,
gave me a pretty good translation; Dan Hernandez's hilarious, almost daily comic-diary,
wherein the visual
outfit and the content go well together. In a lot of the translations the 'go
well together' part was often 'handshake boxing' which at the time was the most
confusing part. But seeing it's actual definition it makes sense in an almost
abstract sort of way

I thought I should finally do this little thing that I was going
do awhile ago for the showdown.
Anyways, apparently at Comixpedia
they are having a journal comic month or something it seems to be lacking focus
so I'm not exactly sure what they are going for, I doubt I'll be mentioned so.
oh by the way I quietly hit 200 strips some time ago, the actual
count is 217 right now. I can't believe I've done that many, if you add up the
average amount of time i spend on one of these strips, I've spent a little more
than 22 complete days of my life drawing this comic, although that seems kinda
low.

to a Journal Comic Showdown. We will each complete a strip for each weekday
by noon until one of us drops. The winner gets not only a Guest journal strip

Currents, and I am trying to work with a another paper in new york, anyways
I'm currently looking to expand this. Right now I'm not looking to get paid,

all, just checking out my stats and I've noticed an increase in readers lately.
If any of you are so inclined stop by the forum and say hi. I'm also kinda interested
to hear where you found out about my comic. I've been trying different things
to advertise my strip so I'm interested to find out what's been working. Also
having no job leaves me with ample time to sit around and do things like obsessively
check my email or search for jobs, so I would kinda like other things to do.

apparently Moderntales has gone ass end up for the moment, From what I recall
this is the first time since it started that MT has been down. But rest assured

Hey whats up everybody for the time being my journal comic is put
on the back burner. Schools pinching me really hard right now so something got
to give for now, sorry. That being said I will be updating every weekday for
the next few weeks. But it will be with my new story "Storming the Castle
Walls." this if you are not familiar is my submission to this years Spxpo
Anthology Anyways I decided that I will leave it free to access but only
until its completion and then I will place it behind the bitpass wall.
